Plan ~ Enhance ~ Experience

It is an exciting stage for OFATV club trails across the province. With so many new riders enjoying recreational off-roading, and the club efforts to connect between trail systems, now is the time to introduce a consistent approach to trail rating.

Trail status will be the default view, and you can view trail rating by toggling trail status to off on the QuadON app and website, effective May 1, 2023.  This provides riders and clubs with greater tools and information to plan a safe and enjoyable experience on the trail. This is not a difficulty rating, but instead it defines the type of terrain a rider should expect on any particular trail.

Benefit to riders:

  • plan your trip based on your riding comfort level and preference,
  • know what type of trail terrain you could expect on a trail,
  • plan for your passengers and potential equipment required,
  • understand consistency of trail standards within the Federation,
  • better determine how long it could take to complete a route, and
  • try new trail rating as your experience increases.

Benefit to clubs:

  • helps clubs mitigate risk,
  • prioritize club trail maintenance efforts,
  • helps suggest trails based on riding preference and experience,
  • plan variety event experiences based on the trail rating.

NOTE: OFATV trails are recreational trails and access is for OFATV members at their own risk and risk of equipment damage.  All trails are subject to periodic flooding, erosion and are susceptible to weather and forest hazards.
